“The Lord is Your Help, Just Look Up”

my help

Psalms 121:1-8, I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel. Will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in. From this time forth and forever.

In the book of Exodus when Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, they were trapped. The Red Sea was before them, they were in between two mountains, and Pharoah’s army was behind them. There was no where for them to go. They couldn’t go forward, they couldn’t go left or right, and they definitely couldn’t go back. The only direction they could look was up. When the people looked up Moses, Moses told them to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, the Lord will fight their battles. When they looked up to God, God made a way for them. He parted the Red Sea, so they could walk through on dry land.

What am I saying? I’m saying that when your faced with all kind of things in your life and you like you’re stuck; you feel like you’re between a rock and a hard place? Just look up! Look to the hills where your help comes from. The Lord will fight your battles for you. Just Look Up! The enemy wants you to focus on everything that’s wrong. He wants you to walk with your head down. He thinks that when he boxes you in that he can get you to think that it’s over and you might as well give up. He might have even been successful until this point; because I’m here to encourage you that it isn’t over for you. This is the time for God to show up in your life.  If the only thing you have energy enough to do is look up, then do just that. Look to God; He will bring you the strength you need to get through this.
